That’s the number of people claimed after 14 years of brutal civil war in Liberia, which is why it’s so important to remember the women and children that have suffered as a result. Nadia Bitar, a native Liberian, has created Haven Missions to provide a safe and healthy environment for Liberia’s orphans so that they may grow up to be productive citizens and assist in Liberia’s rehabilitation. Our mission at haven is to provide housing, food, education and medical care for 500 orphans at a children’s village, the first of which is in Monrovia’s suburb Brewerville. The children will also benefit from an after-school vocational training program to teach them useful trades and a mentoring program to inspire them to reach for the sky. As the date closely approaches any donations for our silent auction are deeply valued.
